printing tips

  • for the most vibrant and accurate colors, convert all RGB colors to CMYK.
  • For the best photos, use resolutions of 300 DPI. Low resolution (72DPI, for example) photos can look jagged and pixellated. Note that photos and logos pulled from the internet are 72 DPI
  • When submitting artwork that prints to the to the edge of the paper (bleed), allow 1/8th of an inch (.125") all around for trimming. Eg, an 8.5"x11" document with a bleed should measure 8.75"x11.25". This keeps unwanted white edges from possibly showing.
  • Always embed all fonts when saving PDF files.
  • Always use press resolution when creating PDF files.
  • When submitting multiple page newsletters or booklets, create pdf files in single page format in the orderthey appear unless you are familiar with printer spread construction. ,li>When attaching database files (records), be certain that the columns are accate. EG: all first names in one column, etc.. This allows us t access the records for variable content, such as "Dear Sally {variable}". Note that the more accurate and considerate your database, the better the finished project will be received.
